Chief Operating Officer & Partner
12Go.Asia
Guido Neil is the Chief Operating Officer at 12Go.Asia, the leading online booking platform for public transportation in South-East Asia that helps tourists to get easily to their holiday destination. He is responsible for all operations, country managers, key accounts and the customer service. As part of the senior management team he plays a major role in defining the strategies to expand the network and make 12Go become a global player. He is looking forward to visiting most of the over 20 countries that will be added to the inventory within the next 16 months.
Guido is based in Bangkok and spends his weekends mostly with family and dogs in his house in Chiang Mai. His passion for travel fits perfectly with a job in the travel industry, so he really enjoys adding new countries to the company‘s map and testing major routes with new operators in the fast-growing network. Scuba diving and riding big bikes are what he does in his limited free time and by living in Thailand he found the perfect spot to combine work, passion and hobbies. The ‚Schumacher-Gene‘ in his blood is probably the reason for his collection of speeding tickets.
Born and educated in Germany Guido holds Master‘s degrees in Chemistry and Bio-Engineering from the RWTH Aachen and also in Occupational Health & Safety from the Technical University Dresden. After his studies he worked in the Express Logistics industry for 12 years. During his career he worked in several countries, including China, before he came to Thailand as Board Member and Country Operations Manager, running a team of over 500 employees. He also took responsibilities as Safety Engineer, EU Safety Advisor, Radiation Protection Advisor, Fire- and Explosion Prevention Advisor and was one of the very few licensed IATA Dangerous Goods trainers in Germany. Working in logistics business travel was always part of the job and by helping to move the airport from Don Mueang to Suvarnbhumi he made important contacts that helped him, in combination with his travel experience, to grow 12Go very fast in the early stage. He was one of the first members to join the team when the company opened in 2014, fully understanding the huge potential of the digital travel company.
